Chicken Marsala


You don’t have to travel to get a taste of Italy! This classic Italian dish is easy enough to make any day of the week but elegant enough for a cozy Valentine’s Day dinner at home. With its rich, slightly sweet sauce, it’s delicious served over pasta or rice, but it also pairs perfectly with a side of vegetables or salad. Buon appetito!





Servings: 2

Ingredients


1 chicken breast, butterflied, pounded, and divided into 2 pieces

Flour, as needed

Salt, to taste

Pepper, to taste

1 ½ c. mushrooms

1 c. marsala wine

2 tbsp. lemon juice

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tbsp. butter

1 tbsp. parsley


Preparation


  1. Butterfly, pound, and divide one chicken breast into two pieces.

  2. Combine flour, salt, and pepper, and dredge chicken breast in the mix. Dust off any excess.

  3. Fry the chicken for three minutes a side in a little bit of oil in a hot skillet.

  4. In the same skillet, add the mushrooms. Cook until soft.

  5. Add the marsala wine, lemon juice, minced garlic, butter, and parsley. Cook until sauce has slightly thickened.

  6. Spoon sauce over chicken and serve.

  7. Enjoy!
